Wildlife In Need & Wildlife In Deed, Inc. is raising funds to build a wildlife rehabilitation facility.  Southern Indiana has been experiencing a boom in both industrial and residential growth.  As construction areas grow, so does the number of displaced and injured wildlife.  With the demand for rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned baby wildlife growing each year, Wildlife In Need must meet this demand by building a rehabilitation facility to house and treat sick, injured, and baby wildlife that are brought to the center.  This facility will provide shelter from excessive heat, cold, and other predators until the animals can be placed in outdoor shelters while preparing for their release back into the wild.

Estimated Building Costs, Equipment, and Caging Costs:  $37,530

Proposed Building Layout:

In-take Area - Office space for accepting and processing of new arrivals.  Documentation of the wildlife in the care of the facility will be done in this area.

Assessment Area - Examination table, sink and supply cabinets in this area for assessment and administering medical treatment.

Staging Area - This area will make up the largest portion of the facility and will contain cages of various sizes for sick, injured, and baby wildlife.  This area will also house some of the exotic wildlife at the center during Winter as many species cannot tolerate cold/inclement weather.

Storage Area - Food, medical and cleaning supplies, animal handling equipment, etc. will be kept in the storage area for quick access.

Outdoor Cages - A covered porch will encompass the facility to allow the animals to receive exercise, fresh air, and allow for inside cleaning of the staging area while continuing to provide shelter. 

Wildlife in Southern Indiana as well as all over the world deserve a chance at survival.  Wildlife In Need & Wildlife In Deed, Inc. is working to provide that chance through wildlife conservation and education, but they cannot do it alone.  You can do your part by supporting the organization through cash donations, sponsorship of events, donations of needed materials  (i.e. red meat and poultry,  produce, cleaning supplies, office supplies, postage, etc.), and by conducting fundraisers.
